Robert 'Howard' Vincent ¹

  General Notes:

He attended that local primary school at Toka Toka and later boarded at an aunt's home in Whangarei to attend high school there.
On leaving school he returned to Toka Toka and helped on teh family farm.
Depression years saw Howard and Noel turn to the bush where they spent a number of years contracting as the Vincent Brothers, until Noel's marriage in 1942. At this point Howard returned home to help father. ²

  Noted events in his life were:

• Occupation: bushman: Tutamoe, , , NZL.

• Occupation: farmer, 1944, Toka Toka, Northern Wairoa, Northland, New Zealand. ² Howard and Ruth purchased the family farm and settled in the old homestead.
The worked to establish it as a dairy farm.
In later years Howard turned to stock dealing.

• Misc: accident, 1965. ² He was injured in an accident while blasting in the quarry. This triggered a decline in his health.

Robert married Ruth Taylor on 14 Jun 1944 in Remuera, Auckland, NZ. (Ruth Taylor was born on 7 Apr 1916.)
