| Constance of Burgundy
(1046-1093) |
Constance of Burgundy
Constance married Count Hughes of Chalon II in 1065. (Count Hughes of Chalon II died in 1079.) Constance next married King Alfonso of León and Castile VI the Brave, son of King Ferdinand of León and Castile I and Sancha of León, in 1079. (King Alfonso of León and Castile VI the Brave was born before Jun 1040 and died on 1 Jul 1109.)
The marriage of Constance and Alfonso initially faced papal opposition, apparently due to Constance's kinship with Agnes (both of them having connections to Burgundy). |
