John married Emma. (Emma was born in 1871 in Canada and died in 1923 in New Zealand ².)

  Marriage Notes:

John and Emma Smith had three children. Their oldest child was Florence Smith. In 1921, John and Emma were living in Winnipeg, Canada. Late that year, they immigrated to New Zealand and settled in the Auckland area. They left Canada with their two youngest children, but left their oldest child, Florence. Florence would have been in her early 20's at that time. We believe she was pregnant and unmarried and disowned by her parents. Florence never saw her parents or siblings again. She died in 1971.
Florence's Mom, Emma Smith died in 1923 (she was only 52). In 1924, John married Minnie Ruth Bush. They had one child together. Janet Ellen Doreen Smith was born October 25, 1934. John Smith died in 1945. ²

John next married Minnie Ruth Bush, daughter of Harry Busch and Sarah Gibbins, in 1924. (Minnie Ruth Bush was born on 17 Sep 1890 in Auckland, New Zealand ⁴ and died circa 1983.)
