His first wife, Elizabeth died on the 9th October 1865 at her residence, Devon Lodge Panton St Golden Square age 31 years. She was born in Cornwall circa 1834 the daughter of Thomas Davey and Elizabeth White. </p><p><p></p></p><p><p>Three children were born to this union: Samuel George born 1856 Sandhurst, Frank born 1861 Sandhurst & Robert Horace born 1863 Sandhurst.</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p>George remarried on the 28th April at Christ Church St Kilda, to Florence Down the second daughter of James Down Esq ofSt Kilda and they had several children.</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p></p></p><p></p>
