For whose portion her mother demised land in Burnsall for 12 years 5 April, 1469 (Reg: Test: Ebor:). The 2 April, 1484, Margaret daughter of Roger and Cath-erine Tempest released to Thomas Tempest 4 messuages and 10 bovates of land in Marton (Bro'ton No.30). This was the amount of the property conveyed by fine June 1476 by Thomas Smith and Margaret his wife to William Tempest of Bro'ton, who settled the same on Thomas Tem-pest his son (Feet of Fines, Yorks, File 164, No. 26). ¹
